- 9 programmable memory channels in addition to the two displayed frequencies
- Non-volatile frequency storage without batteries or external battery hookup so when the radio is turned off and then back on channel information is retained
- Audio leveling automatically amplifying weak audio signals and muting those which are too strong
- 16 watts minimum power output
- 28 volt operation only
- FM immune compliant for ICAO Annex 10 (European use)
- Models available with 25Khz or 50KHz selectivity, with diffused or non-diffused display lens
- Version available (-50) with 5V lighting and bezel removed for use in common bezel applications such as the CNI-5000
- Same as KY-197A but KY-196A is 28V operation only and has higher output power
